WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic women's golf team finished competing in their third event of the season this afternoon at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational hosted by Rollins. In a field of 68 individuals and 12 teams, the Sailfish finished in 11th place after three rounds of play over Monday and Tuesday.
The Sailfish were once again led by
Mackenzie McCormack who finished in 18th place after recovering from her opening 83 with rounds of 79 and 78. She finished 13 shots behind Tampa's Kiira Riihijarvi who won by two strokes.
Jade Staudt was the second-best PBA performer on the week, finishing tied for 47th after opening with two rounds of 83 yesterday.
Poy Prasurtwong finished 59th after shooting three consistent rounds of 88, 89, and 92.
As a team, the Sailfish collectively played their best round in the final round today, but they finished behind run-away winner Dallas Baptist was 28 shots better than Lynn to take the tournament title. PBA's
Jewel Jorgensen finished tied for 60th after rounds of 88, 93, and 90. The final two Sailfish performers of
Lauren Skrabonja and
Emme Lantis finished back to back in 64th and 65th place. Skarbonja shot her best round of the tournament, 88 in her final round today, while Lantis fired an 85 in her third round.
The 'Fish are right back in action next week when they compete in the Barry Lady Bucs Invitational on March 22-23 in Miami Shores, Fla.
