Women's Track Travels to Miramar

MIRAMAR, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's track team competed in the third South Florida Collegiate Challenge Meet, hosted by Nova Southeastern and St. Thomas on Saturday.
 
The Sailfish had 11 participants in the 1500m run. Abigail Bateman earned first place with a time of 4:56.27. Her fellow UT-Chatanooga transfer Hannah Caldwell took second place with a time of 5:01.55. Allison Seng (5:10.47) finished with a personal best time and third place with Emma Baron (5:12.33) taking fourth place. Katie Kanagy had a career-fastest time of 5:19.07 as did Hanna Brook Gibbons (5:21.79) and Abby Reburn (5:25.82). 
 
Bateman (2:27.08) took first again in the 800m run. Caldwell (2:34.02) finished sixth with Gibbons (2:36.25) taking ninth and Kanagy (2:36.26) placing 10th. Gibbons, Kanagy, Seng (2:38.43) and Reburn (2:46.68) all recorded collegiate bests in the race.
 
Kaelyn Lakey was the lone PBA representative in the 400m dash with a time of 1:08.96. She also competed in the 200m finishing at 29.24. Dune Costes represented the 'Fish in the 5000m run, timing in at 19:42.26.
 
The Sailfish are scheduled to travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. for the Embry-Riddle Invitational March 20.
