KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Palm Beach Atlantic women's soccer team has appeared in the United Soccer Coaches Poll at No. 16. The ranking marks the highest and is the first national top-25 ranking in PBA's DII era.

A five-game winning streak has the red-hot Sailfish (6-1, 3-0 SSC) at the top of the Sunshine State Conference standings. The win-streak is the longest for the Fish' since 2012. PBA senior midfielder Kylie Meola leads the team in goals with four. Sydney Timmes, Maddie McCarty and Wilma Ritzen are tied in the team lead with two assists each. The Fish' have yet to be defeated when senior goalkeeper Rachel Neumann starts in net. The Iowa native has made 25 saves this year.

On Oct. 2, PBA defeated Tampa for the first time in school history 2-1. After a 0-0 deadlock in the first half, the Sailfish broke through. In the 58th minute Nicole Richards made a cut and crossed the ball to Meola in front of the net. Meola's shot off her right foot gave PBA the 1-0 lead. The assist was Richards first of the year. The Sailfish were not done adding to the scoreboard as PBA freshman midfielder Serena D'Anna scored in the 68th minute. D'Anna blasted the ball from the right corner of the field over the goalies head to build PBA's lead to 2-0. The Spartans avoided the shut-out in the 86th minute but failed to find an equalizer as PBA secured the 2-1 victory.

The only other SSC team ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Poll is No. 20 Florida Tech. The Fish' play the Panthers on Oct. 27.

Up next, No. 16 PBA has a chance to avenge its only loss of the season against Nova Southeastern (4-3-1, 2-1 SSC) at home on Oct. 6.
