WINTER PARK, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's soccer team dropped their regular season finale at Rollins by a score of 1-0. 

The Sailfish and Tars, competing for a berth in the SSC Tournament, kept the game close in the first half with both teams playing well defensively. Keira Dawley stepped up and made some key saves, she had 6 in the game, while shots from Abigail Longstaff and Aidan McCausland couldn't get past the Tars keeper. McCausland's shot came late in the half but both teams went into the halftime break deadlocked at nil. 

After about 15 minutes of back and forth action in the second half, the Tars earned a corner. Emma Griner serviced the ball into the box and found the head of Gabrielle Mellett who knocked into the back of the net past Dawley for the game's first and what ended being only goal of the game. The Sailfish continued to press and earned a few more chances. Longstaff, Sabrina Blount, Maddie Hulme and Ariana Jones all put shots on frame but were met with saves from the Tar keeper. 

The Sailfish had a great chance late with Ariana Jones earning a free kick just outside of the Rollins 18-yard box. Longstaff and Meren Patton lined up over the ball. Patton ran over it and Longstaff let a shot rip but it didn't get past the Tars wall. Rollins got the ball down to the corner a few times and secured the three points. 

This loss marks the end of the season for the Sailfish and unfortunately they fell just short of the SSC Tournament with a record of 3-8-5 and 2-5-3 in SSC league play.
