MIRAMAR, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's track team was in action on Tuesday evening, taking part in the Bobcat/Shark Relays at the Ansin Sports Complex.
In the 100 meters Nicole Richards had her best showing of the season, turning in a time of 14.38. Gabriella Winters was also to turn in season-bests on the day. Winters turned in a mark of 27.00 meters in the discus while also turning in a 20.89 meters mark in the javelin.
The Sailfish had 10 runners compete in 800 meters and also had 10 compete in the 1500 meters. Desi Van Emmerik had the best time in the 800 meters, turning in a season-best 2:27.16. Six more Sailfish had season-bests in the race with Cami Rickenbach (2:28.75), Avery Knehans (2:36.04), Christin Sustar (2:42.48), Elise Combs (2:42.70), Allison Seng (2:42.96) and Abby Reburn (2:56.09) all running their fastest times of the season.
In the 1500 meters it was Rickenbach turning in the top performance for PBA – which also was the best time of the season. Rickenbach clocked in at 4:57.41 with Dune Costes not far behind at 5:04.96. Seng ran her best time of the season at 5:19.37 with Sustar (5:20.48) and Knehans (5:21.52) both improving from earlier this season.
The 'Fish will be back in Miramar on Saturday to take part in the Bobcat Invitational.
