MIRAMAR, Fla. – The women's track team from Palm Beach Atlantic began their season on Saturday at the NSU Invitational hosted by Nova Southeastern at the Ansin Sports Complex.
Cami Rickenbach led PBA, winning both the 1500 meters and the 800 meters. In the 1500 she turned in a time of 5:00.01, to edge out her competition by less than a second. She won the 800 by over three seconds with a time of 2:30.31.
The 'Fish saw four other runners place in the top-10 in the 800 with Avery Knehans taking 5th (2:39.34), Allison Seng 8th (2:43.14), Christin Sustar 9th (2:43.53) and Hanna Brook Gibbons 10th (2:44.26). Seng and Sustar turned in top-10 finishes in the 1500 as well, joining Elise Combs. Combs was 8th in the 1500-meter race with a time of 5:20.20 while Seng took 9th (5:22.51) and Sustar 10th (5:23.61).
Desi Van Emmerik finished 6th in the 400-meter race with a time of 1:07.19. The 4x400 meter relay team of Nicole Richards, Van Emmerik, Rickenbach and Indya Desir placed 4th with a time of 4:32.89.
The 'Fish return to action on Friday, Feb. 28 as Tampa hosts the UT Track Classic.
