MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's golf posted a 10th place finish at the Battle at the Shores this week, as they finished with an impressive final round of 296 on Tuesday in their final tournament before the SSC Championships next week.
Grant Horvat led the Sailfish for the week, as he was very consistent, shooting rounds of 74, 73, and 75 to finish the tournament at 6-over par. Diego Buttironi took a bit of a different route, but also finished well on the week as he shot rounds of 77 and 71 on Monday and finished with a 75 on Tuesday to finish 7-over.
Martin Westerlund shot an opening round 77 and followed it with a disappointing round of 83 on Monday. The first-year Sailfish player rebounded nicely on Tuesday, as he finished the tournament with an even-par 72. Ben Clarke (75-83-74, 232) and Alex Wilson (80-80-76, 236) rounded out the team scoring for the Sailfish.
Carter Smith was competing as an individual for the 'Fish and had a nice week, shooting rounds of 76, 75, and 78.
The Sailfish will return to play on Sunday, April 14 as they will open up play at the SSC Championships in Dade City, Fla.
