DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis dropped a Sunshine State Conference match on Sunday to Embry-Riddle, losing to the Eagles 5-2.
The 'Fish picked up the doubles point and a win at No. 6 singles, but lost two singles matches in three sets. Pietro de Silva and Thomas Salmon picked up a win at No. 1 doubles, 6-2 over Alexis Guedy and Andrej Omeragic. Rodolfo Hasegawa and Carlos Niemeyer defeated Mickael Faucher and Blake Rohweder 6-4 at No. 3.
In singles Erik Carlsten was the lone winner for PBA, defeating Rohweder 7-5, 6-4. At No. 2 Hoffmann took the opening set over Guedy 6-4 but dropped the final two 6-0 and 6-4. Hasegawa was forced into a third-set tiebreak with Omeragic. Hasegawa took the opener 6-2 before losing the second 6-3. In the third Omeragic took the set 7-6 (2).
PBA is back in action on Tuesday as they welcome No. 1 Barry to the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center for a 4 p.m. match.
