Men's Lacrosse Upended By Mocs

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – After falling behind big early Palm Beach Atlantic men's lacrosse was unable to forge a comeback, losing to Florida Southern on Saturday 19-10.

The Sailfish pulled within four midway through the third but the Mocs answered with a three-goal run to give themselves some distance before finishing the game on a four-goal run. PBA played the Mocs even in the third quarter with each team scoring three times, but Florida Southern outscored the 'Fish in the other three quarters.

Three players scored twice for PBA with Townsend Brown, Zack Figura and Jackson Miller all able to accomplish the feat. Miller added two assists to finish with a team-high four points. Nick Whelan scored his first career goal in the second quarter as the 'Fish were up a man. PBA finished the game with two extra-man goals and one man-down goal.

Marcus Lantier made the start in goal for PBA, collecting 14 saves in the process. Max Freestone made 16 saves in goal for the Mocs. Gunner Gebelein led PBA with six ground balls and also added one caused turnover. Alex Aken and Harrison Wood were both credited with two caused turnovers as Aken also snagged five ground balls.

The 'Fish are back in action on April 6 as they head up the coast to Melbourne to take on Florida Tech at 12 p.m.
