WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – No. 14 Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis won their 12th straight match, defeating Eckerd 7-0 to claim their first SSC win of the season.
The 'Fish – who slid down the national rankings to 14 earlier in the day – took all three doubles matches with Philipp Hoffmann and Carlos Niemeyer having the easiest road, a 6-1 win at No. 3. Thomas Salmon and Umberto Rosi also won, 6-4 at No. 1 with the duo of Erik Carlsten and Rodolfo Hasegawa winning 7-5 at No. 2.
The Sailfish didn't drop a set in singles action with all six matches finishing before rain started falling. Rosi defeated Alasdair Know 6-4, 6-1 as Rosi played at the top spot in the lineup. Hasegawa won by the same score at No. 3, defeating Matt Spasic. Carlos Meneses was put into the lineup at No. 6 and came away with a 7-5, 6-1 win. Other winners on the day were Pietro de Silva, Carlsten and Niemeyer.
Palm Beach Atlantic is back in action on Saturday as they make the short trip to Lynn to take on the No. 17 Fighting Knights at 10 a.m.
