WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis knocked off Colgate on Monday afternoon, as the Sailfish improve to 8-1 on the season. Colgate falls to 3-9 with the loss at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
PBA swept the three doubles matches on the day, as Umberto Rosi and Thomas Salmon won 6-4 at No. 1 doubles and Erik Carlsten and Rodolfo Hasegawa won 6-0 at No. 2. Philipp Hoffmann and Carlos Niemeyer finished the doubles sweep with a 6-4 win of their own.
Several Sailfish players had closely contested singles matches on the day, as Hoffmann lost at No. 1 singles 7-6, 7-5. Rosi won at No. 2 singles 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 and Hasegawa also won a three-setter at No. 4 singles 5-7, 6-0, 6-0. Carlsten won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 and Niemeyer and Salmon picked up wins of their own to close out the match.
The 'Fish will return to action tomorrow, March 12 as they will host Southern New Hampshire at 3 p.m.
