TAMPA, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's and women's track sent a limited number of participants to the Tampa Track Classic on Friday night.
On the men's side Ty Fisher was the top finisher on the day in the 1500 meters, crossing the finish line in a time of 4:16.30. Fisher placed 19th in the field of 49. Tim Koritz finished just over a second behind Fisher at 4:17.53 while Tyler Ketcham (4:25.22) and Paul Breitbach (4:30.05) also competed. Fisher also ran the 5K and placed 15th out of 28 racers with a time of 15:28.15.
PBA saw two competitors race in the 800 meters as well with Jack Blyth pacing the team with a 14th place finish with a time of 2:05.60. Dennarius Murphy was four spots behind his teammate with a time of 2:06.75.
For the women the 'Fish saw action in just the 1500 and the 5K. Cami Rickenbach competed in the 5K along with five other Sailfish and finished in 19:45.14. Katie Kanagy finished four spots behind Rickenbach in 37th with a time of 19:58.79.
The remaining four 'Fish all finished within seven spots of each other with Christin Sustar (20:45.45) leading the pack. She was followed by Jessica Lykins (20:51.82), Abby Reburn (20:56.62) and Hope Kanagy (21:34.52).
Avery Knehans was the lone competitor for PBA in the 1500 and finished in a time of 5:29.46.
The Sailfish will be back in action on Tuesday, March 12 at the NSU Shark Invitational.
