ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's golf finished 13th at the World Golf Invitational this week, which is hosted annually by Flagler College. The Sailfish were led by Deanna Confessore, who finished in a tie for fifth in the tournament as she shot impressive rounds of 75 and 71 to finish at 2-over par.
The Sailfish shot rounds of 316 and 319 in the tournament, as Confessore paced the Sailfish on both days of the tournament. Confessore's second-round 71 is her first under par round as a member of the Sailfish. Jewel Jorgensen was the next best finisher for the 'Fish, as she shot back-to-back rounds of 80 in the tournament.
Taylor Sukmana shot 80 and 81 in the opening tournament of the spring, while Alex Dowd finished with rounds of 81 and 87. NoraNoel Nolan rounded out the scoring for the Sailfish with rounds of 91 and 89.
The Sailfish finished in a tie with Illinois-Springfield, and finished ahead of Embry-Riddle, West Georgia, Lander, and Shorter in the tournament that was won by Nova Southeastern.
PBA will be back in action on Feb. 18 as they will open up play at the Lady Moc Classic in Lakeland, Fla.
