FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's basketball lost to No.2/No.3 Nova Southeastern Wednesday night in Fort Lauderdale. The Sailfish (12-15) were unable to handle the high powered offense of the Sharks (24-2) as the score ended 98-76 in favor of Nova Southeastern.
The first half of the game was a back and forth contest for the first six minutes before the Nova Southeastern offense started clicking as they took the lead and pulled away. The Sailfish shot 1-for-11 from three while shooting 38 percent from the field. Jules Jasmin was a bright spot for the 'Fish in the first half scoring 14 points as he went 6-for-8 from the floor. The Sharks ended the half with a commanding lead of 51-31.
The Sailfish played well in the second half shooting 53 percent and scoring 45 points. Unfortunately, the Sharks also had a strong second half as well shooting 68 percent from the floor. Jasmin stayed hot in the second half scoring 12 more points to give him a total of 26 on the night but it wasn't enough to make a comeback as Nova Southeastern went on to win 98-76.
Jasmin was the team's high scorer with his 26 points which was his highest scoring game of the year. Jasmin went 12-for-14 in the game while also leading the 'Fish in rebounds with seven. Casey Carpinello had 12 points of his own thanks to going 3-for-5 from three-point range.
The Sailfish will be back in action for their last regular season game of the year against Florida Tech in Rubin Arena on Mar. 2. It will also be senior night with tip scheduled for 4 p.m.
