ORLANDO, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis bounced back with an 8-1 victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Monday evening in a match played at the USTA National Campus.
The Sailfish took all three doubles matches with Philipp Hoffmann and Carlos Niemeyer teaming together for the first time this season at No. 2. The duo cruised to an 8-1 victory while Erik Carlsten and Stanislav Feofilov made the most of their first appearance in doubles action, winning at No. 3 by a score of 8-4. In the top spot Pietro de Silva and Rodolfo Hasegawa held off Ian Landwehr and Andre Adam to win 8-7 (4).
In singles action the Sailfish were able to get people into the lineup for the first time this season. Carlsten won his singles match, playing at No. 2 and defeating Adam 6-3, 6-1. Carlos Meneses was also in the lineup for the first time this season, winning at No. 6 6-3, 6-3. Thomas Salmon and Niemeyer were also able to pick up victories while Umberto Rosi was knocked off by Landwehr in three sets.
The Sailfish are back in action on Wednesday at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center against Saint Thomas at 4 p.m.
