Sailfish Compete At NSU Classic

MIRAMAR, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's track competed for the first time this spring, racing at the NSU Classic on Saturday.

The 'Fish saw Cami Rickenbach lead the way as the junior competed in both the 800-meter race and the 1500-meter race. She placed 4th in the 800 with a time of 2:33.31 while taking 5th in the 1500 after crossing the line in 5:05.03. Freshman Katie Kanagy also turned in a strong performance in both races, taking 6th in the 800 (2:38.02) and 9th in the 1500 (5:20.03). Windsor Anderton turned in a time of 2:41.35 to finish 10th in the 800.

PBA had 10 racers compete in the 1500 and eight run the 800 while also competing in four other events. Two Sailfish competed in the shot put with Emilia Murillo and Jenna Ogle. Murillo placed 6th with Ogle finishing just behind her.

In the sprint events Maddie McCarty had the strongest showing on the day, taking 5th in the 400-meter race with a time of 1:03.89. Crystal Agumagu was the top Sailfish finisher in the 200-meter with a 9th place finish while also taking 7th in the 400.

PBA will be back in action on March 1 in Tampa.
