WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – De'Ondre Jackson hit six three-pointers as Palm Beach Atlantic men's basketball swept the season series against Barry University with an 80-76 victory on Wednesday night inside Rubin Arena.
Jackson led all scorers with 22 points including 16 in the second half as the junior hit 4-of-5 from long range after halftime. He twice gave PBA the lead late in the second half but it was back-to-back threes under five minutes left that put PBA on top by four that helped PBA pull away from the Bucs.
The second triple came with 3:25 to go and put PBA up 71-67, a lead they never relinquished. Down the stretch PBA made enough free throws and got a clutch three from Bakari Warthen with just over a minute to play to give PBA their third straight win over the Bucs.
Warthen finished with 17 points and made 3-of-7 from long range as the 'Fish connected on 13-of-25 from beyond the arc. PBA shot 51 percent overall from the floor in the game. Jules Jasmin added 15 points for PBA including 10 in the first half while Michael Stones added nine. Paxton Wilson also scored eight points off the bench.
The game went back and forth all night with seven ties and 14 lead changes. Barry shot 48 percent overall and made 9-of-25 from long range. Marcelo Perez led the Bucs off the bench with 18 points, making 5-of-7 from the floor.
PBA is back in action on Saturday as they travel to Embry-Riddle for a 6 p.m. tip. The 'Fish defeated the Eagles in Rubin Arena earlier this season 80-77.
