JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's golf got off to a solid start to the 2018-19 season this week, as they finished second at the Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational.  The Sailfish fell to the hosts Coastal Georgia by just one shot, and newcomer Jewel Jorgensen tied for first place overall, and defeated Hannah Sager from Faulkner University on the first playoff hole for the individual title.

Jorgensen had a wild second round on Tuesday, as she had five bogeys and a double-bogey, but also had five birdies and shot a two-over 74. She finished her first tournament as a Sailfish at 6-over par after a 76 on Monday and finished on top of the leaderboard.

Deanna Confessore shot a round of 82 on Monday to open the tournament, but came back with a nice round of 78 to close out the tournament on Tuesday and post an eighth place finish. Alex Dowd also finished in the top-10, as the junior shot rounds of 77 and 84 on the weekend.

Ryanne Jackson (81-81, +18) and NoraNoel Nolan (89-79, +24) rounded out the scoring for the Sailfish in the opening tournament of the season. 

The Sailfish won't be back in action for almost a month, as they will be in action at the GolfRank Invitational on Oct. 8-9 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
