ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's golf finished in a tie for fourth at the Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational to open up the 2018-19 season. The Sailfish shot rounds of 298 and 299 on Monday and were in sixth place, but fired a final-round 293 to close out the tournament and finish in a tie for fourth.
Nicholas Marchese competed in his first tournament with the Sailfish, and led the way as he shot rounds of 71 and 74 on Monday. He shot a final-round four-under 68 however and finished under par for the tournament and in a tie for fifth overall. Brady Godwin was competing as an individual in the tournament, but shot impressive rounds of 73, 71, and 73 to finish in the top-10 overall.
Grant Horvat was next for the 'Fish, as the sophomore shot rounds of 73, 74, and 75 and finished 18th overall at 6-over par. Another new face to the Sailfish golf team Diego Buttironi had a solid showing, as he finished at 8-over par after rounds of 74, 73, and 77 on the week.
Alex Wilson had a disappointing Monday, as he shot 83 and 78, but helped the Sailfish on their Tuesday push up the leaderboard with a final-round 73. Matt Youngblood closed out the scoring for the Sailfish with rounds of 80, 78, and 79.
The Sailfish will be back in action on Sept. 24 as they will compete at the Griffin Invitational.
