WINTER PARK, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis won their second straight on Saturday, defeating Rollins 6-3 in a Sunshine State Conference match.
The 'Fish (14-7, 4-2 SSC) picked up two wins in doubles as both the No. 1 and No. 2 teams were victorious. Pato Zaraua and Pietro de Silva held off Guille Nicolas and Ziad Melhaoui at No. 1, 8-6 while Philipp Hoffmann and Bernardo Ferreira knocked off Nico DeFraia and Freddie Danielson 8-5 at No. 2. The Tars took No. 3 doubles as Sami Kirberg and Cody Gubin defeated Rodolfo Hasegawa and Thomas Salmon 9-7.
In singles took four matches including the bottom three with Niemeyer securing the victory at No. 6 with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 victory over Danielson. Zarazua cruised to a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 1, taking down DaFraia. That was the lone victory in the top half of the lineup for PBA. Salmon and da Silva both picked up victories for PBA as both went to three sets to help PBA pick up the conference win.
The Sailfish were scheduled to be at home on Sunday against No. 12 Embry-Riddle but that match has been postponed due to potential weather. A make up date has not been determined at this time.
