MELBOURNE, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's golf finished seventh at the Lady Panther Invitational this week, as the 'Fish shot rounds of 334, 332, and 310 at Duran Golf Club in a tournament hosted by Florida Tech. The Sailfish had three golfers shoot in the 70's in Tuesday's third and final round as the tournament was played over three days. Seminole State College won the tournament, as the edged out Barry for the win.
The top three golfers for the Sailfish were separated by just two shots for the week, as Taylor Heinz, Alex Dowd, and Melanie Stark were the top finishers for the Sailfish. Heinz shot rounds of 82 in her first two rounds and finished with a 78 on Tuesday. Dowd shot 82, 77, and 84 for the week. Stark, one shot behind Dowd, shot 81, 83, and 80 for the tournament.
Taylor Sukmana (89-90-76, 255) and Ryanne Jackson (89-90-76, 255) rounded out the scoring for the Sailfish, while Katie Humphreys (94-91-81, 266) competed as an individual for the tournament.
The Sailfish will be in action next week at the Sunshine State Conference Championships which will be held in Boca Raton, Fla.
