WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis picked up their second straight win on Tuesday, defeating Southeastern Oklahoma State 6-3 at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
The Sailfish (9-8) took two of three doubles matches and four of the six singles matches to take the match. Both of the doubles wins were close as Yuliia Russu and Taylor Conti defeated India Shiaelis an Nina Sergev 9-8 (5) in the No. 1 spot. Down at No. 3 it was Johanna Kern and Nicole Reich took down Luisa Auffarth and Chiara Berg 8-6.
In singles action the 'Fish were able to win at the top two and the bottom two spots. Bella Mermersky cruised to victory at No. 1, 6-2, 6-0 over Alexsandra Reljic. Vanessa Buchbinder took the first set 6-0 over Shiaelis and was leading 1-0 when Shiaelis retired.
At the bottom of the lineup it was Kern that came away with a 6-4, 7-6 (2) victory as well as Michaela Mignemi winning in three sets, 6-1, 3-6, 6-1.
PBA will host Eckerd on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in a SSC match.
