WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis got back on the winning track on Tuesday, defeating Southeastern Oklahoma State 6-3.
The Sailfish (10-6) were able to take two doubles matches and four singles matches to secure the victory. PBA won at the top two and bottom two singles positions while taking No. 2 and 3 doubles.
Pato Zarazua and Pietro de Silva were both able to win in singles and doubles play as the duo teamed up for an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles. Zarazua was also a winner in singles at No. 1, defeating Carlos Anez 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. De Silva was also a winner in singles, earning a straight sets victory over Jeremy Despont 6-2, 6-1.
Carlos Niemeyer and Philipp Hoffmann were also both winners in singles play with Niemeyer taking the No. 6 flight and Hoffmann winning at No. 2. Both victories were in straight sets with Niemeyer winning 6-1, 6-2 and Hoffmann winning 7-6 (3), 6-3. Rodolfo Hasegawa and Thomas Salmon picked up the other doubles victory, taking down Milos Vuckovic and Sandro Lena 8-5.
The 'Fish return to action on Wednesday as they host Eckerd in a SSC match at 3 p.m.
