Sailfish Track Wraps Up Meet at Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's and women's track competed at the Hurricane Invitational on the campus of the University of Miami over the last two days.

Ty Fisher was impressive on Friday night as the freshman turned in a time of 15:52.50 in the 5K, a personal best by 40 seconds. Joshua Read nearly broke the two minute barrier in the 800 meters, finishing 10th in a time of 2:00.82. Mike Smith was two spots back in 2:01.56.

Fisher followed up that performance from Friday with a 12th place finish in the 1500 meters, clocking in at 4:17.97. Smith finished 16th in that race with a time of 4:19.98.

In the javelin Jon Paul Ogle hit a season best mark of 47.09 meters to finish in 8th.

Cami Rickenbach shaved three seconds off her time in the 1500 meters from earlier this week, running 5:06.31 on Saturday to place 10th. Isabelle Granlund finished 12th in that race with a time of 5:11.18.

Alexis Sanquist improved on her time from earlier in the week in the 100 meters, turning in a 13.39 time on Saturday to finish as the top Sailfish. Tatiana Etienne was the top Sailfish finisher in the 200 meters running a season best time of 28.17.

The Sailfish are back in action on March 22-23 at the USF Bulls Invitational in Tampa.
