No. 24 Ranked Sailfish Defeat American International 13-6

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The No. 24/28 ranked Palm Beach Atlantic baseball team extended their winning streak to 11 games on Wednesday, as the Sailfish defeated American International College 13-6 at J.M. "Jake" Rubin Park.  The 'Fish are now 17-5 on the season as the Yellow Jackets fall to 4-5 on the year.

The Sailfish struck first on the night, as Ryan Johnson and Connor Rowland hit back-to-back triples to right field, each driving in a run and giving the 'Fish a 2-0 lead in the third inning.

The Yellow Jackets tied the game with a two-run homer in the fourth inning off Sailfish starter Lance Fry.  The Sailfish grabbed the lead again in the fourth inning, as Danny Tufariello smacked a two-run double to left field, and Mike Santaromita followed with a two-run single to center.

The 'Fish really opened up the score in the fifth, as Kyle Simon and Santaromita knocked in more runs and made the score 8-3 in favor of the Sailfish.  Johnson was back at it in the seventh with a two-run single, and Riley Herold followed with his third hit of the night, a double that stretched the lead to 12-3.

The Jackets got a few runs back in the eighth inning, but the Sailfish bullpen shut the door on a 13-6 victory.

Fry (Win, 2-0) threw five solid innings on the night, striking out four batters and allowing five hits.  David Paul was solid in relief of Fry, throwing two scoreless innings in just 18 pitches.  Justin Hernandez threw a perfect ninth inning, striking out two batters.

Several Sailfish batters collected multiple hits on the night, as Rowland and Herold led the way with three hits each.  Johnson added two hits, and also drove in three runs.  Simon had a multiple-hit night as well, going 2-for-4.

Bobby Brennan went 1-for-3 on the night with his first home run of the season, while also walking twice.

The Sailfish will now return to Sunshine State Conference play, as they will travel to Winter Park, Fla. for a three-game set with Rollins College.  The first game of the series will be Friday, March 16 at 6 p.m.
