WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis picked up their fourth win in five matches with a 9-0 defeat of Bluefield State on Monday afternoon.
The Sailfish were up 2-0 before a ball was served as the Big Blues had only five players. PBA won No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles by default.
In doubles play Michaela Mignemi and Nicole Reich paired together at No. 1 and dispatched Milica Kmjaja and Sophie Bygrave 8-2. Estefani Fernandez and Carolina Wakiyama were grouped together at No. 2 and won 8-1 over Milica Knezevic and Katie Combs.
In singles action Mignemi didn't drop a game in her 6-0, 6-0 victory. Romina Bolagay was equally impressive, also winning by the score 6-0, 6-0. Vanessa Buchbinder dropped just one game and Taylor Conti dropped one each set on their way to victories. Johanna Kern needed three sets but came away with a 6-1, 4-6, 10-4 victory.
PBA is back in action on Tuesday as they take on NCAA Division I LIU Brooklyn at 4 p.m.
