WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis team came up just short on Monday night, falling to Bluefield State 5-4 at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.

The Sailfish were able to take two points in doubles in tight battles. The top flight went to the 'Fish as Pato Zarazua and Pietro de Silva defeated Alex Rudenco and Luke Busse 8-4. Philipp Hoffmann and Bernardo Ferreira took down Giorgi Datashvili and Arthur Figuiere 9-8 (4) but the Big Blues were able to take No. 3 doubles, 9-8 (3) to steal a point.

In singles Zarazua was able to come up with a solid win at No. 1, defeating Figuiere 6-4, 6-1 and Rodolfo Hasegawa got a win, 6-3, 7-6 (5) but the 'Fish were shut out from there. Two of the other four singles matches went three sets but Bluefield State was able to win both of them. Hoffmann and Salmon both won their opening set but lost the last two as the Big Blues sealed the match.

The Sailfish are back in action on Wednesday as they host NCAA Division I Cleveland State at 3 p.m.
