Riddle's 21 Not Enough For Sailfish Against Florida Tech

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic was looking to clinch a spot in the SSC tournament on Saturday, but have more work to do as Florida Tech mounted a late comeback against the 'Fish, and defeated PBA inside Rubin Arena by an 86-77 final score.  The Sailfish now sit at 14-15 on the season and 8-10 in conference play.  Florida Tech is now 12-14 overall and 7-11 in SSC play.

PBA got off to a fast start on Saturday, as the offense was firing on all cylinders early, and the 'Fish got out to a 29-14 lead just 11 minutes into the SSC matchup. 

The Panthers would settle into their game later into the half, but the Sailfish shot over 50 percent from the field and made 3-of-7 shots from long range in the first half to take a 42-37 lead into the break.   The 'Fish got 12 points in the first half from Michael Stones, as the junior was a perfect 4-of-4 from the field in the half.

Jordan Majors dominated the second half of the game for the Panthers, as he scored 16 points in the final 20 minutes.  The Sailfish opened their lead to as many as 11 with 16:07 to play, as Marshall Riddle knocked down a three-pointer and made a free throw as he was also fouled on the play.

After the four-point play from Riddle, the Panthers outscored the 'Fish 44-24 to win the game by nine points. 

Riddle led the 'Fish with 21 points on the day, as the senior knocked down 6-of-13 shots from long range.  Jules Jasmin added 15 for the Sailfish, as he was very efficient, going 5-of-6 from the field.  Jasmin also pulled down 12 rebounds for the double-double.

Grant Gullet finished with 14 points and six rebounds on the day, and Stones finished with his 12 points, all of which came in the first half of play.

The Sailfish will take on Nova Southeastern at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. as the Sailfish try to earn a spot in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament.
