LAKELAND, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men's cross country team finished 18
th at the NCAA South Region Championships in Lakeland on Saturday. Embry-Riddle finished first in team scoring followed by Lee University, who had the races top runner. Florida Southern had a third place finish.
Ty Fisher once again finished first for the Sailfish and 71
st overall. Fisher had a time of 34:17 in the 10k race which was an improvement of nearly a minute from last year's NCAA South Region Championships.
Joshua Read also saw major improvement from last year's championships finishing about two minutes and 30 seconds quicker than last year. Read finished at the 35:37 mark and placed 99
th.
Freshman
Tyler Ketcham was the second Sailfish across the line with a time of 35:27 giving him the 95
th place finish.
Jack Blyth finished with a time of 35:42 and placed 103
rd overall and fourth for the 'Fish. Rounding out the finishers for PBA were
Paul Breitbach (36:51-119
th) and
Cooper LaBrant (37:47- 124
th).
The Sailfish will transition into track competition for the spring. A schedule for the season will be coming in the following weeks.
