Anderson's 14 Kills Lead Sailfish to Sweep of FIT

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball swept Florida Tech on Friday night inside Rubin Arena for their fourth consecutive victory.  The Sailfish improved to 18-3 with the victory and are now 10-3 in Sunshine State Conference play.  Florida Tech drops to 5-16 with the loss as the Sailfish completed the season sweep of the Panthers.

The Sailfish got off to a bit of a rough start, as they trailed 8-4 early on in the set.  The 'Fish then went on a 9-2 run to take a three-point lead and force a Florida Tech timeout.  The Sailfish and Panthers were tied at 23 late in the set before back-to-back kills from Ally Rohn in her first match of the season gave the Sailfish the first set.

The Sailfish and Panthers were locked in another close set in set two as the Sailfish led 20-18 late.  The 'Fish then won five out of six points to close out the set strong to take a 2-0 lead.

PBA cruised to a 25-16 victory in the third set to complete the sweep of FIT.  Jennie Anderson had another stellar match for the Sailfish, as the sophomore had 14 kills in just 20 attacks on the night.  Raegan Grooms had eight kills and just one error as the senior added 10 digs for the 'Fish.

Rohn had a double-double in her first match back from injury, as the senior finished with 18 assists, 14 digs, and five kills on the night.  Molly Burkhardt led the 'Fish with 21 assists and added four kills.  Amber Rowoldt had seven kills on the night while Sophie Hoekstra added six.

The Sailfish will be back in action tomorrow, Oct. 13 as they will host Embry-Riddle at 4 p.m. inside Rubin Arena.
