LAKELAND, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball suffered their first road loss of the season on Friday night, falling to Florida Southern in three sets 25-17, 25-22, 25-21.
The Sailfish struggled to get their offense on track, hitting just .200 for the match as the Mocs hit .339 overall. The Sailfish managed just 37 kills with Raegan Grooms leading the way with 10. The 'Fish were also held to a season-low of three total blocks in the match.
PBA (22-2, 14-2 SSC) led only three times in the match and never past 6-5 in the second. The Mocs (19-6, 13-1 SSC) were led by three players in double figures on offense with Nicole Mattson and Anna Tovo each recording 13 kills.
The 'Fish saw Molly Burkhardt record seven kills to go along with 22 assists and eight digs. Susie Forbes led the team with 21 digs and also added one ace. Ally Rohn finished with six kills, nine assists and eight digs in the match with Sarah Kimmey and Maddie Span each collecting five kills and a block.
PBA will be back in action on Saturday as they take on Tampa in Tampa at 4 p.m.
