WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- With final preparations being made for another semester at Palm Beach Atlantic University the athletics’ mascot has also been busy. Sailfish Jack as he is known to his adoring fans was recently highlighted as he wraps up the summer and gets ready for a busy athletics calendar.

The Sailfish will see 12 teams suit up for the 2013-14 academic year with five males teams being joined by seven female teams. The Sailfish men’s and women’s soccer teams along with the women’s volleyball and cross country teams will be reporting to campus soon to begin preseason preparations.
The men’s soccer team will kick off the season at home on Thursday, Sept. 5 when they host Colorado Christian University for a 3 pm showdown.
The PBA volleyball team will begin the 2013 campaign on the road at the Carson Newman Tournament in Jefferson City, Tenn. before returning to West Palm Beach for their home opener on Tuesday, Sept. 10 versus Palm Beach County rival Lynn University. The Fish and Knights will square off at 7 pm in the Rubin Arena.
Women’s soccer also starts out the season on the road with a two-match swing in St. Augustine, Fla. at the Flagler College Tournament and will host their first action at home on Thursday, Sept. 17 versus Warner University at 4 pm.
