WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Sailfish Athletic Department and Director of Athletics Carolyn Stone announced on Friday the appointment of Sam Eisen to the position of Head Athletic Trainer. Eisen comes to Palm Beach Atlantic from Barry University where he served the past seven years as part of the Buccaneers Athletic Training staff.
Most recently Eisen served as an assistant athletic trainer and clinical instructor at Barry. At PBA, Eisen will oversee an assistant athletic trainer and two interns to cover PBA’s 12 teams and over 160+ student-athletes.
“It is with great excitement that we welcome Sam Eisen to the Sailfish,” said Stone. “His professional experience at the Division II level, coupled with his outstanding academic preparation will greatly enhance our Athletic Training program and care of our student- athletes.”
Before serving as an assistant athletic trainer at Barry, Eisen completed his graduate work at the university and served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer.
He attended Elon (N.C.) University for his undergraduate degree in athletic training. While at Elon he served as a student athletic trainer with the football team, women’s soccer team and softball team.
Although PBA will be his first position leading a department, Eisen feels he is ready for the task.
"I am very excited to join Palm Beach Atlantic as the Head Athletic Trainer,” said Eisen. “I want to thank President Fleming and Athletic Director Carolyn Stone for giving me this opportunity to oversee the welfare of the student-athletes."
Beyond his experience at the collegiate level, he has also worked as an athletic trainer and first responder for the National Cheerleading Association.
He is a member of the National Athletic Training Association.
Eisen will begin his duties at PBA on July 15, 2013.
