WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Sophomore Brittany Schneider, an outfielder on the Palm Beach Atlantic University softball team, recently completed a fantastic week that saw the left-handed hitting Schneider finish 11-for-18 on the week as PBA finished 6-0 with sweeps against Barry University, Florida Tech, and Ave Maria University. For her efforts, Schneider has been named the Sailfish Student-Athlete of the Week.
A versatile player with good speed and excellent softball instincts, Schneider now sits third on the team in batting average at .339 while improving her season average by nearly 100 points over the past week.
Schneider began her torrid stretch with a 2-for-4 showing in PBA’s game one victory over Barry University on Tuesday evening then followed that up with three more hits in Wednesday’s double-header road sweep of FIT.
The big end to her week came on Saturday where the Orlando native combined to 6-for-6 in the two games against Ave Maria as Schneider collected four singles, two triples, and one double while driving in four runs and scoring three times.
For the week, Schneider was 11-for-18 (.611) with five RBI’s and four runs scored as PBA continued their recent win streak as it pushed to a program-record 14 straight wins. The Fish are 29-7 on the season.
Brittany is a Nursing major and the daughter of Pat and Kim Schneider.
