PERSONAL
Born August 8th, 1990.... Majoring in Psychology with a minor in Exercise Science... Chose PBA because of the girls on the volleyball team. She wanted to be part of a team that was focused not only on loving each other and being sisters in Christ, but also on sharing the light and love of Christ through the platform of volleyball... Favorite verse is Psalm 9:10... Favorite team is the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers... Favorite athlete is Lebron James... Daughter of Todd and Denise Way... Has one sister, Rachel, and one brother, A.J.
2011 (Senior)
Closed out her solid four-year playing career as a second setter and team leader... Appeared in 23 matches while playing in a total of 46 sets... Contributed 178 assists (3.87 assists per set) to finish second on the team... Added in 47 digs, 12 service aces, and seven kills on the season while posting a .400 hitting percentage, the top percentage on the team... Produced a season-best of 21 assists versus Webber International University on October 27th, 2011... Collected a season-high eight digs at Eckerd College in the Eckerd College Classic... Named a NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.
2010 (Junior)
Although battling nagging injuries throughout the season, still managed to put together her best all-around season as the team's starting setter... Played in 36 of the team's 37 matches while starting all 36 matches and appearing in 125 total sets on the season... Closed out the season with a career-high 1,214 assists (9.71 assists per set)... Contributed 270 digs (2.16 digs per set) to finish fourth on the team in digs... Added in 50 kills, 27 total blocks, and 27 service aces... Registered at least 25 assists in 27 matches on the season with a season-high of 55 assists versus Francis Marion University on October 21st, 2010 at the USC-Aiken Invitational... Registered double-digits in digs eight times during the season including a season-high of 24 digs vs. Augusta State University on October 22nd, 2010 at the USC-Aiken Invitational... Named to the Pepsi Bash at the Beach All-Tournament Team... Selected to the USC-Aiken Invitational All-Tournament Team... Chosen to the NCCAA All-Region 2nd-Team... 2009 (Sophomore)
Produced a solid first season as the team's regular setter after serving in a backup role as a freshman... Started all 27 matches while playing in a team-high 99 games... Led the team with 970 assists (9.8 per game), while also adding in 43 kills, 231 digs, 29 service aces, and 34 total blocks (two solo, 32 assists)... Led the team with a .276 attacking percentage... Finished second on the team in service aces, third in digs, and fourth in total blocks... Honored as a recepient of the Academic Achievement Award.
2008 (Freshman)
Made an immediate impact as a true freshman splitting time as a setter and backrow defensive specialist... Appeared in 29 of 31 matches on the season while starting most of the season... Finished second on the team in assists with 117 (1.22 per game) while also adding in 163 digs and 14 service aces.
HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Lincoln Southwest High School where she competed on the volleyball court as a setter for Mary Schropfer and Sandi Genrich... Named to the All-State listing in 2007, All-City three seasons, and All-conference two seasons while earning four varsity letters at LSHS... A team team captain during her junior and senior campaigns, Way was selected to the Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star game selection... An Honor Roll selection during all four years of high school, Way was named Academic All-State during her junior and senior seasons... Involved with FCA, concert band, orchestra, varsity show choir, and varsity jazz band.
