Luiza Andrade joined the PBA volleyball staff in the summer of 2024. She was honored as an AVCA 30 Under 30 honoree in her first season with the Sailfish.
“I am so excited to start this new chapter with PBA volleyball,” Andrade said. “I look forward to contributing to our program’s growth and helping guide our student-athletes towards excellence on and off the court. I’m thankful for Courtney Lovely Evans and Coach Jeff Huebner for their trust, and I’m thrilled to be a part of a great community!”
“I am so excited to welcome Coach Andrade to the Sailfish family,” PBA Head Coach Jeff Huebner said. “She is incredible at building connections with athletes, investing in the department, and is an elite volleyball mind. I am confident that adding her will be another step toward building championship level expectations within the Sunshine State Conference.”
Andrade rejoins PBA head coach Jeff Huebner, having served as his assistant at Texas Woman’s University beginning since July 2021.
Andrade helped take TWU to unprecedented heights over the last three seasons. The tandem of Huebner and Andrade guided the Pioneers to one of their best seasons in program history in 2023, finishing 19-9 overall with an 11-5 mark in the Lone Star Conference. The squad was ranked in the NCAA South Central region rankings for the first time ever.
During Andrade’s time at TWU, the program had four student-athletes earn all-conference honors, including one AVCA all-American. She expanded the program’s recruiting footprint, bringing in eight out of state and four international recruits.
Prior to joining Huebner at Texas Woman’s, Andrade served as a graduate assistant coach for the inaugural beach volleyball team at NCAA DI Stephen F. Austin. She helped build the roster, leading it to a .583 winning percentage in its first season.
Before beginning her coaching career, Andrade competed on the indoor and beach volleyball teams for San Jose State. She was an all-Mountain West libero in 2018 and finished her career with the second-most digs in SJSU history. She represented SJSU on the Mountain West all-star team that took third place in the 2016 European Global Challenge.
Andrade has competed internationally as a member of the Brazilian National U16 team. She was selected best libero with the national team in Uruguay when the team won the South American Championship. She is a six-time best libero honoree in National Tournaments (Taca Parana, Copa Minas & State Championships) as a member of Flamengo. Andrade currently competes in AVP beach volleyball and grass volleyball tournaments. Andrade currently competes in AVP beach volleyball and grass volleyball tournaments.
