Gracie Silva is the newest addition to the Palm Beach Atlantic University volleyball team as she will assume the position of assistant coach for Beth Silva in 2009.
No stranger to Palm Beach County, Silva recently graduated from nearby Northwood University with a degree in Business Management in the spring of 2009. Silva was a standout outside-hitter and middle-blocker for the Seahawks volleyball team at NU while leading the team in kills as senior.
Before attending and competing at Northwood, Silva also had stops at Trevecca Nazarene University, Palm Beach Community College, and Pasco Hernando Community College.
A native of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Silva competed at the prep level at Colegio Batista Mineiro before coming to the United States to play at the collegiate ranks. At the club level, Silva spent five years competing for the McKenzie Sport Club.
In addition to her PBA coaching duties that include assisting Avila with on-court coaching, scouting, recruiting, and administrative duties, Silva also assists with the JM #10 Volleyball Club in Stuart, Florida.
