Whitney Bailey begins her third season as the top assistant coach for the Sailfish volleyball program in 2012 under head coach Bob White. She also works full-time in the Athletic Department as an administrative assistant specializing in busines operations within the department.
A former standout player for the Sailfish, Bailey returned to the bench having the knowledge and experience of a four-year playing career in a PBA uniform that she can pass along to the current crop of players.
A defensive specialist and the Sailfish libero during most of her collegiate career, Bailey got her start on the volleyball court by competing at Martin County High School in nearby Stuart, Florida. Bailey graduated from PBA in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in International Business.
Known most for her defensive abilities, Bailey totaled over 1,200 defensive digs in her PBA playing career while also finding success with her serve as she tallied over 150 career service aces. Serving as White's top assistant, Bailey aides the Sailfish team in practice, scouting, recruiting, and on-court coaching among other duties.
Formerly Whitney Warren before marrying husband Ben in April 2012, Whitney belongs to a family with a long line of successful volleyball standouts. Whitney is among four Warren sisters to play collegiate volleyball. Whitney, Sara Beth and Allie Warren all competed for the Sailfish during their playing careers.
