PERSONAL
Born November 29th, 1990... Majoring in Journalism... Aspires to be a head grounds keeper at a professional baseball facility... Chose PBA because he liked the size of the school and the location... Favorite teams are the Miami Hurricanes and the Philadelphia Phillies... Favorite athlete is Cole Hamels... Son of Robert Kovacs and Brenda Kovacs-Reading.

2013 (Senior)
Finished off his final season for PBA as one of the best pitchers in the South Region... Compiled a record of 7-5 while recording a microscopic earned-run average of 1.98... Started 13 games for the Sailfish, throwing 104 2/3 innings on the season and walking just 11 batters while striking out 62... Threw eight complete games, with just one being of the seven-inning variety... Dubiously set the record for most hit batsmen in a season with 15...  Was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-Region second-team...  Named to the Daktronics All-Region second-team... Also garnered All-Region honors from the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA)... Honored with a spot on the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Region second-team... Was the named the ICAA Pitcher of the Year as well as the ICAA First Team... Didn't allow an earned run in three straight games against Nova Southeastern, St. Thomas, and Florida Tech... Struck out a season-high eight batters in the NCCAA South Regional game against Shorter on May 7th... Went at least seven innings in all 13 starts on the season... Picked up wins against the aces of Sunshine State Opponents such as Lynn, Nova Southeastern, Florida Tech, Tampa, Barry, and Eckerd... Tossed a masterpiece against Florida Tech on March 15th, allowing just one unearned run while striking out five and walking nobody in a complete game, 2-1 victory... Picked up the victory against Tampa on April 12th, pitching 6 1/3 innings and allowing just two earned runs... Had his finest performance of the year on the road at Barry on April 19th, throwing a complete game shutout with six strikeouts, and only needing 82 pitches to do so.

2012 (Junior)
Established himself as a solid starter in the rotation while settling in as the No. 2 weekend starter... Appeared in 18 games, good for second on the team, with 11 starts... Finished tied for the team-lead in wins as he finished 5-4 with a team-best 3.75 earned-run average... Finished second on the team in innings pitched with 74.1 innings while compiling a team-high 58 strikeouts and just 14 walks... Tallied three complete games and a team-high two shutouts... Also logged one save... Went at least six innings in seven starts with a season-high of a nine inning stint versus Barry University on April 28th, 2012... Posted at least six strikeouts in six starts with a season-best 11 strikeouts on April 28th, 2012 versus Barry University.

Attended Lake-Sumter Community College where he played baseball for two seasons... Named to the All-Conference 1st-Team as a sophomore... Chosen to the All-State 2nd-Team... Tied the school-record for most wins in a season (8).

HIGH SCHOOL
Competed in baseball at East Ridge High School where he played for coaches David Bultema and Wes Logsden.
