Bio Divider - PBA Highlights

Stephen Tempone was named the head coach of Sailfish men's lacrosse team in 2018 for the program's inaugural year.

In their first season since the pandemic, Tempone led the Sailfish through a nine-game season with the team's first victory over Saint Leo in program history on April 22.

PBA was on-pace to match that win total again in 2020, but the season was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Even though the season was shortened, Gunner Gebelein was named as the program's first All-American by Inside Lacrosse Magazine.

The Sailfish improved under Tempone in year two by adding two wins to their win-total the year before. The highlight of the season was Gebelein, who was named the Sunshine State Conference Freshman of the Year while being named to the first team. Another highlight of 2019 was a program win over No. 7-ranked NYIT, Tempone's alma mater.

The Sailfish picked up their first win in program history on Feb. 16 in Pensacola, Fla. as they defeated Montevallo 10-9 in overtime. The Sailfish also picked up non-conference wins against Dominican and Emmanuel on the season and picked up their first Sunshine State Conference victory on March 17 over Embry-Riddle. PBA had four student-athletes earn All-SSC honors. Colin Hayek was named to the second team with Jackson Miller, Alex Aken and Ben Savick were named to the freshman team in the program's inagural season.
