Vincent Currie

Joining the Palm Beach Atlantic men's basketball coaching staff for the 2010-11 season  as an assistant coach will be Vincent Currie.

A native of Jackson, Mississippi, Currie is a former player at the Univesity of Texas-El Paso while also having experience playing while enlisted in the U.S. Army and a professional career overseas.

A veteran basketball instructor and player, Currie is expected to add value to head coach Terry Primm's coaching staff by working with the post players while also assisting the programing in recruiting, practice sessions, scouting, and other duties as assigned.

Currie is a 1989 graduate of Forrest Hill High School in Jackson, Mississippi where upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army (Desert Storm/Desert Shield). During his military career (1989-93), Currie stayed active in basketball by competing for his Army Post basketball team.

After finishing his first tour of duty in 1993, Currie would compete for the University of Texas at El Paso where he completed his collegiate playing career for the Miners in 1995.

Currie would return to his military roots after graduation while also competing for the All-Army Basketball Team and representing the Army in the Arm Forces Tournament where he helped lead his team to a silver medal.

Upon finishing his tour of duty in 1999, Currie would go on to play professionally in Belgium.

Now a resident of Riviera Beach, Florida and the owner of his own business, Currie is married to his wife Karen with the couple having five children: Aaron, Vincent II, Malayah, Markalia, and Malik.
