Palm Beach Atlantic University Athletics

Tony Watson Jr. brings over 20 years of coaching experience to Palm Beach Atlantic University as he begins his first season as an assistant coach.

Most recently, Watson has been an assistant coach with two semi-pro teams, the Palm Beach Piranhas and the Palm Beach Titans.

The Palm Beach Gardens H.S. alum spent six years coaching his alma-mater from 2003-09. His team was ranked No. 1 in the state in 2007 and No. 3 in 2008. For this the South Florida Sun-Sentinel named him the 6A Coach of the Year in 2007. Six of his players went on to earn college basketball scholarships.

“Coach Watson brings a wealth of experience to our staff,” commented Coach Balza. “His love for the Lord and his passion for the game are what stood out to me. Our student-athletes will benefit greatly from his tutelage.”
