Palm Beach Atlantic University Athletics

Tony Spates begins his second season in 2009-2010 as the top assistant men’s basketball coach for Terry Primm and the Palm Beach Atlantic University Sailfish.

A native of Newark, New Jersey, Spates joined the Sailfish coaching staff last season as he assisted the program with on-court coaching, film sessions, practice and conditioning drills, film exchange, recruiting, and advance scouting.

A former assistant at Ragsdale High School, Spates was a part of a coaching staff that led their team to the 2007-2008 conference championship as well as an overall record of 43-13 in his two years on the bench.

Currently completing his undergraduate degree through Strayer University, Spates is on target to graduate soon with a degree in International Business.
