Palm Beach Atlantic University Athletics

Josh Yesner begins his first season at Palm Beach Atlantic as an assistant men’s basketball coach.

Coach Yesner spent the 2012-13 season as an assistant coach at Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth under Coach Butch Estes who is now the Head Coach at Barry University.  Yesner was part of Palm Beach State’s best season in school history as the program won a record 29 games, was ranked in the top five nationally, and earned a trip to the FCSAA State Tournament.

From 2010 to 2012, Yesner was the Head Varsity Boys Basketball coach at Pompano Beach High School. At the conclusion of the 2012 season, Yesner was selected as Head Coach of the North Team in the BCAA All Star game. Prior to Pompano Beach, Yesner was an assistant coach at Taravella H.S. (2009-10) and The Sagemont School (2008-09).

At Palm Beach Atlantic, Yesner will focus on Team Defense and will work with the perimeter players. He will also play a significant role in recruiting and scouting, as well as player development both on and off the floor.

 “I am excited to add Josh to our staff,” said Balza. “He knows the area talent well and has a lot of connections in South Florida. He has a great energy about him. He is all about developing our student-athletes on all levels and that fits well with how we like to do things.”
