Jonathan Odjo

  • Title
    Graduate Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach

Coach Odjo is in his first season with the PBA Coaching Staff as a Graduate Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach.  The former collegiate point guard will work primarily with the Sailfish point guards and focus on the offensive side of the ball.

A native of the Ivory Coast, Jonathan’s family came to the U.S. in 2000 and settled in West Palm Beach. He played his high school basketball locally at Suncoast High School, where he garnered Honorable Mention All-Area honors while playing for Coach Jason Powell, a PBA alum. Odjo continued his playing career at Webster University in St. Louis, MO. Odjo played in 102 games at Webster, where he helped lead his team to an NCAA Tournament appearance. As a junior, Odjo led his team in Free Throw shooting at 82%. As a senior, he had an astounding 3.5 to 1 assist to turnover ratio and was second on the team in steals with 32. Odjo finished his career among the top twenty in career steals at Webster.

While at Webster, Jon was a four year member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Odjo’s parents are currently missionaries in Haiti. Odjo began his coaching career as the Webster University JV Assistant Coach in 2016-17. In 2017-18, he was an assistant coach for West Boca High School’s Varsity Boys Basketball team under PBA Alum Nate Vera. At PBA, Odjo is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Global Development.

Coach Balza had this to say about his new graduate assistant: “I first got to know Jon when he was working as a camp coach here at PBA. He impressed me immediately with his work ethic and attention to detail. As I have gotten to know him better, I can’t help but think he has a bright future in this business. He reminds me a lot of our two previous G.A.’s, Evan Sizemore and Garet Tucker, in terms of the maturity in his faith and knowledge of the game of basketball.”
