Evan Sizemore

Evan Sizemore was promoted to full-time assistant coach in April 2018 at the age of 23, becoming one of the youngest full-time assistants in college basketball after spending most of the 2017-18 season as a graduate assistant for the men's basketball program. As the lead assistant, Sizemore has a hand in all of the day-to-day activities and decisions regarding the program. He serves as both the recruiting coordinator and academic liaison for the team in addition to his on-court coaching, skill development duties and role as lead scout. Sizemore also oversees the Workship program for the team which has accumulated over 2,000 hours of community service since his arrival.

Sizemore was named to the Under Armour 30-under-30 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches in 2020 after helping lead the Sailfish to their best season in the Division II era in the 2019-20 season. PBA's 21-9 record was the first 20-win season in the D2-era and its 11 conference wins were the most since joining the Sunshine State Conference. The season was highlighted by a nine-game winning streak which included thrilling wins over Barry, No. 10/12 Nova Southeastern and Rollins. The 'Fish finished third in the SSC standings and earned a win over Saint Leo in the first round of the SSC tournament. The season was capped off by PBA earning an at-large bid for the NCAA South Region tournament for the first time in program history. The game against Valdosta State was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

During his tenure with PBA, Sizemore has helped lead the 'Fish to an appearance in the Sunshine State Conference tournament in all four seasons. He has also taken the lead in recruiting the first student-athletes from the program to earn All-SSC honors when Jules Jasmin earned honorable mention in 2020. Sizemore also brought in Dan Largey who was the first Sailfish to earn SSC first team honors in 2021 while Jasmin earned second team honors and Alexander Gorton was named to the SSC newcomer team. Sizemore had a hand in developing PBA's heckling defense with has been top 4 in steals in the conference each season since his hiring.

Sizemore also serves as Camp Director for Coach Rose’s summer basketball camps. Prior to this role, he had spent four summers working the basketball camps at Palm Beach Atlantic. He is active in the church and cherishes his role as spiritual mentor to the student-athletes in the basketball program.

Sizemore graduated cum laude with honors from Ohio State University in the spring of 2017, earning a bachelor’s of science degree in education. During his time at Ohio State, Sizemore worked with the women’s basketball team, which advanced to the Sweet 16 each of his final two seasons. He was also an event management intern at OSU as well as with the Columbus Blue Jackets and has served as a locker room assistant with the Green Bay Packers. He was a three-sport varsity athlete in high school in his home state of Wisconsin. Sizemore’s brother Justin also works at PBA, serving as an assistant coach for the baseball program. Evan is completed his Master’s degree from PBA in Leadership.
