Noah Hartmetz enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Sailfish baseball team under head coach Rob Avila in 2009.
A former catcher and first-baseman at Friends University, Hartmetz comes to PBA after serving as an assistant coach for a number of collegiate and high school teams over his short coaching career.
Professional experience for Hartmetz ranges from working with the Wichita Wheat Kings, a collegiate summer team as well as a two-season stint as a varsity assistant coach for The Independence School in Wichita, Kansas. During those two seasons, The Independence School set school records for wins.
Before his arrival at The Independence School, Hartmetz spent his time as an advisor for the Bethany College baseball team. An NAIA institution, Bethany utilized Hartmetz as an assistant with hitting and defense as his top two responsibilities. Another coaching position for Hartmetz has been for the Orlando Hammers where he acted in a dual role of Assistant Coach and Sports Information Director. Hartmetz got his start in the coaching ranks at his alma mater, Friends University.
During his playing days, Hartmetz was a three-year team captain at Friends where he was a part of a 2004 squad which set school records for wins and registered a Region IV runner-up finish. After graduating from Friends with a bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science, Hartmetz went on to attain his Master’s degree in Sports Administration from Wichita State University.
Noah and his wife Tripp reside in West Palm Beach.
