Mitch Calandra joined the baseball coaching staff prior to the 2025-26 school year. Calandra was a standout baseball player at Eckerd where he was a four year starter for the Tritons. in 2016, Calandra was named SSC Freshman of the year after starting in 32 games while hitting .345 on the season. He followed up in his sophomore season with a .343 average and a team leading 36 RBIs while starting all 50 games at third base and catcher. In his junior season, he hit .327 with a team leading 65 hits in 49 games while gunning down 19 baserunners behind the dish. In his senior year, Calandra Started all 50 games once again for the Tritons while hitting .382 (84-220) on the season. His impressive numbers lead to a draft selection by the Atlanta Braves in the 30th round of the 2019 MLB Draft. Calandra would work his way up to the Double-A Mississippi Braves during his professional career.Â
Calandra began his coaching career as Director of Underclassman Recruiting with Factory Athletics.Â
