Coach Jon Musillo begins his third season with Palm Beach Atlantic University as the Assistant Head Coach on Kent Bottenfield's staff for the 2015 season.
Responsible for much of the offensive and base running strategies of the Sailfish, Coach Musillo serves as hitting coach, third-base coach, recruiting coordinator and camp coordinator while also assisting in the day-to-day operations of the entire program.
His coaching tenure with the Sailfish is somewhat of a homecoming for Musillo, who is originally from nearby Jupiter, Fla.
He graduated from Jupiter High School before moving on to a collegiate playing career that concluded with him being named an All-Conference shortstop at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Ala. He is now pursuing a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership through PBA.
Musillo’s coaching career began after graduating from Faulkner with a stint at Central Alabama Community College (2007-08) before moving back to South Florida. He then spent the next few years as an assistant varsity coach at Coral Springs Charter High School before landing with Barry University before the start of the 2010 season.
While coaching with the Bucs, Musillo was responsible for much of the offensive philosophy employed by the team while working with the infielders and catchers on the defensive side. He also assisted head coach Marc Pavao with recruiting and camps.
Jon and his wife, Jineth, have a daughter, Sophia and reside in Delray Beach.
