WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Palm Beach Atlantic University has announced the resignation of head women's lacrosse coach
Laurie Podmilsak, effective immediately.
Podmilsak, who led the Sailfish program for three seasons, informed the department of her decision to step away from her role to spend more time with her family.
During her tenure, she recorded the two winningest seasons in program history. She ends her time at PBA with the most wins of any coach in program history.
"We are grateful to Laurie for her leadership and dedication to our women's lacrosse program," Director of Athletics
Courtney Lovely Evans said. "She has made a lasting impact on our student-athletes and helped elevate the program in her time here. We wish her nothing but the best in her next chapter."
Podmilsak coached multiple all-SSC honorees, including the program's first IWLCA all-region and all-American,
Rachel Delate last season.
"I would like to thank
Courtney Lovely Evans and
TJ Budd for the opportunity to coach under their leadership and to work in collegiate lacrosse. It has been a divine opportunity to learn about PBA. I have appreciated working with the team and experiencing SSC level competition. I wish the program, my fellow coaches and staff the best."
A national search for the next head coach will begin immediately.
